Despite nature and its services being a significant part of the world's GDP, natural resource degradation is increasing with forests and wetlands destruction. To combat this, natural-based solutions (NbS) can provide cost-effective CO2 reductions, fulfilling a third of the net zero requirements. The carbon tech market is expected to grow to $20.9 billion by 2027. Many companies and countries have set net zero targets. Standardizing financing for natural capital projects is essential, and investing $350B annually in reforestation and afforestation is required by 2030 to prevent a 2°C temperature rise. The voluntary carbon market has tripled since 2018, and its demand is projected to increase 15X over the next decade and 100X by 2050.
