Aprende Institute is a tech-enabled vocational institute for Latin Americans and hispanics in the US seeking to develop new skills and improve their income sources and livelihoods. The Company offers 30+ courses across 5 schools, including gastronomy, wellness, trade skills, and beauty and fashion. Courses follow a linear, asynchronous methodology and are designed to be completed in ashort periods and include interactive videos and lessons, practical activities, live classes with other students and evaluations.
Investment Thesis
While there are plenty of online platforms available for learning skills in technology, Aprende is the only platform targeting vocational and trade skills in Latam, in an affordable and convenient format. In a region where half of companies firms cannot find candidates with the skills they need (compared to 36% in OECD) and with a predominant low-skilled adult population, providing educational opportunities for individuals to reskill or upskill becomes critical, particularly in sectors with the highest expected demand for workers.
