Prestamype provides better and more accessible financial services to micro and small companies(SMEs) in LatAm. Today they offer mortgage-backed lending, currency exchange' and non-recourse factoring. Working with individual P2P investors and institutional backers, the company has financed over 1,4000 SMEs allowing them to invest and hire.
Investment Thesis
Getting financing is painful for SMEs due to the inefficiencies of the current players. Commercial banks usualy take months and microfinance institutions take a much higher interest rate - sometimes double the prevailing rate. The company is a first mover in the "missing middle of SMEs" in Perú, the most concentrated financial system in LatAm.
